In this special episode, we hosted Coach Rima Amer, one of the prominent figures in group training and international judging. Her journey began as a national team athlete, progressing to founding gymnastics clubs, and passing through stages filled with challenges and successes in the Arab sports world.
Rima started her career as an athlete and then entered the world of group sports, coaching the national team before moving to a new path with the support of the federation, becoming a certified international judge. She didn’t stop there; she further advanced her career by joining one of the most renowned global group training programs, Les Mills, specializing in Group Exercise programs.
She began with the “Haraka” project, which aimed to spread the culture of group exercise, but later faced a challenge with Les Mills. Instead of stopping, she decided to pioneer an alternative Arab project, reflecting the same idea with a local spirit. From this experience, she confirmed that challenges build strength, allowing her to continue succeeding in judging and becoming a prominent global sports figure.
Rima believes group training is better than individual training because it creates an environment of motivation and participation, enhancing commitment and consistency. She emphasizes that a successful coach must have charisma, advanced technique, and a distinctive way of delivering performance. Exercise is not just movement; it’s a full experience that starts before the session and continues afterward.
Rima clearly distinguishes between two types of coaches: • Those who rely solely on social media presence. • Those who are stronger in real-life interaction, performance, and influence. The real coach combines smart marketing with high-level practical performance, focusing on communication with trainees and providing feedback that boosts their confidence.
Rima discussed the difficulties of reaching a global professional level in the Arab world for several reasons: • Lack of modern equipment. • Few highly qualified coaches. • Insufficient financial support, especially in individual sports. However, she believes the solution starts with awareness, collaborative work, and creating fair competitive environments that enhance both coaches’ and athletes’ skills.
Among Rima’s most notable achievements is founding the first gymnastics club in Jordan. This sparked a qualitative shift in societal awareness about the sport, leading to the emergence of new clubs and an increase in the number of athletes, supported by the Jordanian federation, which organized competitions to discover talent.
Today, Rima works on her personal project in the sports field, striving persistently to obtain the necessary approvals. Her belief that success requires time and patience drives her to continue without giving up.
Rima Amer’s story is a true embodiment of the spirit of challenge and sports empowerment. She is a model for women who have made a real impact in sports, not only through training athletes but also by creating entire environments for development, judging, education, and group training. Her dream continues, and her ambition is endless. This is not just a success story, but an invitation for every coach to leave an unforgettable mark.
