The NASM CPT Review Sessions are designed to help fitness professionals consolidate their knowledge and build confidence as they prepare for the CPT exam. Spread over six in-person sessions, each lasting two hours and held every two weeks, these sessions offer a focused, interactive environment where participants can revisit key concepts, clarify challenging topics, and practice applying their knowledge in exam-style scenarios.

 

The sessions are structured to provide a comprehensive review of the most important CPT principles, including energy systems, functional anatomy, movement assessments, and program design. Participants will engage in hands-on activities, group discussions, and guided practice with exam-style questions to reinforce understanding and retention. This approach not only strengthens theoretical knowledge but also helps participants connect theory to practical application, enhancing both learning and confidence.

 

Throughout the program, participants will explore essential content areas such as overhead squat assessments, the OPT model, flexibility, core and balance training, plyometric exercises, cardio, and psychology, culminating in program design strategies and a mock exam experience. Each session is carefully designed to ensure that participants have the opportunity to ask questions, discuss real-world examples, and develop strategies for approaching different types of exam questions.

 

While the review sessions do not introduce new material, they provide a structured, immersive way to solidify existing knowledge, clarify complex topics, and practice critical thinking and problem-solving as required on the exam. By the end of the program, participants gain a deeper understanding of CPT concepts, greater confidence in their knowledge, and enhanced readiness to successfully tackle the certification exam.
