The CPR/AED powered by ASTI course is designed to help participants gain essential life-saving skills in CPR, AED use, and emergency response through a convenient online-only format.

Through this course, participants will learn how to respond to life-threatening emergencies involving adults, children, and infants. The course covers cardiopulmonary resuscitation, compression-only CPR, choking response, recovery position, and the use of an automated external defibrillator.

This course satisfies NASM CPR/AED requirements and allows participants to become certified from home. Same-day certification may also be available for those who need certification quickly. 

The CPR/AED powered by ASTI course equips participants with essential emergency response knowledge and skills.   • You have 730 days from the date of purchase to pass the exam. After completing the study materials, you will take an online exam to become CPR/AED Certified.
  • The exam consists of 25 questions, and unlimited exam attempts are allowed.

How long do I have access to the course?

You'll have access to the course and exam for a full two years (730 days). 

What happens if I don't complete my course before the expiration date?

If your course has expired before you can successfully complete your exam, please contact NASM Member Services at 1-800-460-6276, option 3. Please note: Extension fees may apply. 

What happens if I don't pass the NASM CPR/AED exam?

This exam provides unlimited exam attempts, so you can continue to take it until you pass. 

Does the NASM CPR/AED program include a hands-on skills check?

This course is completely online, so there is no hands-on skills check. 

Once I pass the exam, where do I access my CPR/AED certificate?

To access your CPR/AED certificate, log in to your Customer Portal and select Credentials > My Credentials and then select My Certificates to view, print, or download. 

Will this course meet the CPR/AED requirements for my NASM/AFAA exams?

Yes. This course meets the requirements for the CPR/AED certification needed to sit for NASM/AFAA exams. 

Will this course meet the CPR/AED requirements for my employer or for other organizations?

We recommend verifying with your employer or insurance carrier to find out if an online-only CPR/AED certification is accepted. 

How many CEUs does the CPR/AED Certification course count for?

The CPR/AED course counts for 0.1 CEUs toward your NASM recertification requirements. 

How do I apply my CPR/AED CEUs toward my NASM recertification requirements?

Once you successfully complete the CPR/AED course, 0.1 CEUs will automatically appear in your NASM Recertification Portal. No need to upload a copy of the certificate. 

How long is my NASM CPR/AED certification valid?

Your certification is good for 2 years before you have to recertify.
