The Pilates Course is designed to provide learners with a scientific and structured foundation for understanding Pilates concepts, goals, principles, exercises, and the anatomical and functional analysis of movement.

The course connects theoretical knowledge with practical application, enabling students and trainers to understand exercise execution, analyze movement, identify common mistakes, and apply suitable modifications according to each individual’s level.

This course covers both Mat Pilates and Reformer Pilates, with a focus on breathing, control, core stability, body alignment, and safe exercise performance. 

Upon successful completion, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the historical background and philosophy of the Pilates method.
  • Understand and apply the six core principles of Pilates during training.
  • Explain Pilates breathing principles and integrate them effectively with movement.
  • Identify basic anatomical concepts related to movement, with a focus on core muscles and spinal stability.
  • Analyze movement quality and recognize common exercise mistakes.
  • Perform essential Mat Pilates exercises safely and systematically.
  • Understand the basics of Reformer use and apply Reformer exercises correctly.
  • Design and structure a Pilates session based on warm-up, progression, and cool-down principles.

  • Pilates Principles:Understand the core Pilates principles, including breathing, concentration, control, precision, flow, and centering.
  • Anatomy & Movement:Learn the anatomy of the spine, trunk, upper body, and lower body, and understand their role in exercise performance.
  • Breathing Techniques:Learn how breathing is used in Pilates to support movement, stability, and control.
  • Mat Pilates Exercises:Practice essential Mat Pilates exercises such as Bridge, Hundred, Dead Bug, Bird Dog, and leg series exercises.
  • Reformer Pilates Exercises:Learn Reformer safety, basic Reformer anatomy, and exercises such as Footwork, Single Leg Press, Mid Back Series, and Open Window.
  • Movement Analysis:Analyze exercises based on posture, working muscles, common mistakes, and suitable modifications.
  • Safe Training Practice:Apply safe training principles while working with clients, considering individual differences and fitness levels. 

 

Curriculum
Fundamentals & General Concepts

In this section, participants are introduced to the foundations of Pilates, including its history, benefits, and the six core principles of the method. This section also highlights client safety during training and the role of breathing in improving performance, control, and focus throughout the exercises. 

Anatomy & Movement

This section focuses on the anatomical foundations related to Pilates practice, including the spine, trunk, lower body, and upper body. Participants will learn how muscles work during movement, the importance of proper alignment, and the role of body stability during exercise. 

Training Foundations

In this section, participants are introduced to the main types of Pilates, especially Mat Pilates and Reformer Pilates. It also covers introductory movements such as internal rotation, helping participants build a foundational understanding of exercise execution and movement control. 

Mat Pilates Exercises

This section covers a series of Pilates exercises performed on the mat, with emphasis on proper technique, control, breathing, and core stability. Participants will learn how to perform essential exercises, understand the purpose of each movement, identify common mistakes, and apply suitable modifications based on the practitioner’s level.

Reformer Pilates Exercises

This section focuses on the fundamentals of using the Reformer machine, including safety principles, basic Reformer anatomy, and proper handling during training. Participants will also learn a variety of Reformer exercises that target strength, control, flexibility, and stability, with emphasis on safe and effective application.
